Wellisair Transport Test Confirms its Ability to Reduce Bacteria

Wellisair on TransportThe growing awareness of air purification and decontamination devices has seen a rise in the number of organisations now trialling specific devices such as the Wellisair to determine just how effective this technology really is. The unit is currently being used worldwide, and has this year, received the Premis Talent award in the category for biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and scientific transference. The prize awarded by the Welcome Talent Society and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, paves the way for further recognition and research into clean air technology.   The Korean environmental consulting company KSD have recorded test results of the effectiveness of the Wellisair on a public bus in Korea. Samples were taken from inside the bus before and after the installation of the device which was active inside the bus for 24hours. Surfaces such as handles, buttons, seats, and windows were all tested in the laboratory along with the air content. The Wellisair was active during the normal bus service route to determine the most reliable results. The test results concluded a significant drop in the presence of bacterial microorganisms in the air and on surfaces after 24 hours use of the unit. All samples were tested for traces of Pneumococcus, E-coli and Staphylococcus aureus with results confirming that the presence of Pneumococcus and Staphylococcus was reduced by nearly 92% and the trace of E-coli was reduced by 73% on surfaces.   The KDS stated that Wellisair uses hydroxyl radical technology which, on a scientific level, attacks the bacterial microorganisms present, forming a strong chemical reaction and rendering them harmless. They also noted that the air inside the bus was noticeably fresher with no odours. They concluded that the overall results confirm that the Wellisair is a worthwhile and effective decontamination device for public transport and space.   Records confirm a series of tests concluding how effective this hydroxyl radical technology really is, including a test at the International Naeem hospital. The ongoing threat of Covid-19 and other unknown viruses has seen a rise in the use of decontamination devices such as the Wellisair. It is beneficial to have the scientific evidence of how effective this type of device really is especially in a medical environment. The initial sample tests from the waiting room and a patient room in the hospital detected traces of staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, purulent streptococcus and streptococcus pneumoniae. Tests were repeatedly taken in each room at specific time intervals before and after the installation of a Wellisair to get the most accurate results. The tests confirmed that the overall rate of bacteria was reduced by 50% after installing the air and surface disinfection device. Therefore, in environments where harmful bacteria have a fast transmission rate, which is hard to manage manually, it is certainly worth looking at how clean air technology can benefit the environment.
