Industrial Fans | Future Thinking

It's here! 2017 has arrived, and during the first week back to the office, we have been discussing what lies ahead for in the industrial fans market and for us here at Axair Fans. As many of you will be aware, the demand for industrial fans for Biomass and Biofuel applications was spiked in 2016. Increased funding in support of renewable energy generation and eco friendly fueling in the form of the renewable heat incentive scheme is set to continue throughout 2017. Innovation in industrial fan design continues for Axair by working closely wi...

Our Friends Electric – Axair & Formula E

Despite the well-publicised environmental and financial benefits, electric cars have largely failed to win over consumer hearts and minds. For many, electric cars are seen as slow, restrictive and expensive to buy. Formula E is looking to change this. Part sport, part testing ground, the world's first fully-electric racing series is looking to shape the future of the electric car, both on and off the track; with a little bit of help from Axair along the way. The first Formula E season kicked off in Beijing, in September last year and climaxe...

Ecofit 300 Diameter Axial Revitalised for Erp 2015

Many of our fans are being redeveloped to ensure that they comply with the ErP 2015 directive and the latest model to be updated is our 300mm diameter axial from Ecofit. The high speed 2 pole model is capable of 2675rpm and provides nearly 100m³/h more airflow at 0Pa then the version it has replaced. This is largely thanks to the fan’s new blades which are profiled and designed for better performance and efficiency. Like the previous version, the blades are individually welded directly onto the motor's rotor. The new model has lower mo...

Rosenberg: A Supplier Profile – Part 2

There’s No Business Like Snow Business

Christmas adverts have become as much of a festive fixture as turkey, tinsel and turtle doves. The nation’s leading retailers now annually compete to produce the most tear jerking and heartfelt campaign, all in the hope of getting your tongues wagging and your wallets open. Back in November, we worked with the company that helps to add an essential Christmas ingredient to many of these ads by quite literally, making it snow! Based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, Snow Business have been in business for over 30 years. They describe themselves as ...

Reliable & Robust Dust Extraction Systems

Many industrial and manufacturing processes can produce hazardous airborne particles which need to be extracted away in order to protect the working environment and any susceptible personnel. Axair can supply a range of fans by Sodeca that can be utilised in local extract or multi-point ducted systems to remove these particles safely and efficiently. Sodeca’s CMT, CMAT and CMR centrifugal fans are highly effective at transporting dust and other similar solids due to the configuration of their impeller blades, which aid the passage of parti...

EC motors from Ecofit

Axair now offer three motor sizes in EC versions from Ecofit. All are ErP 2013 and 2015 compliant. The three motors available are the D7 motor for fans up to 120Wa, G9 for fans up to 150Wa and finally the L4 motor for fans up to 250Wa. Motors are available coupled to either forward curved or backward curved impellers giving a huge range of operating points within the same footprint, with EC motors alone. The motors offer speed control at its most simple with 0-10VDc, PWM or potentiometer. Ecofit can also offer customised performance curve...

B Wheel – Backward Curved Impeller from Rosenberg

Rosenberg’s new LRHF-B impeller is a backward-curved seven-blade aluminium fan wheel especially designed for demanding air-movement tasks with low noise and high efficiency requirements.  The new “B-Wheel” design can increase efficiency by nearly 6% and reduce noise by three decibels compared to the standard eight-blade design, depending on the application. On the “B-Wheel” impeller, the blade diameter is smaller than the outside diameter of the cover and support plate, which acts as a rotating outlet diffuser. This new wheel geom...

ErP Compliancy

Axair Fans is highlighting the importance of being able to provide ErP compliant fans after the Eco-design Directive comes into force in January next year. Products include Rosenberg’s standard plate and cased axial range which, driven by efficient single and three phase external rotor motors, meet the requirements of ErP 2013and in many cases are ErP 2015 compliant too. “Like most manufacturers, Rosenberg, Ecofit and Sodeca have many of the fans in their current ranges which are compliant with the requirements of the EU ErP Directives, ...
