Frequently Asked Industrial Fan Questions

What Is The Difference Between An industrial Fan and a General Purpose Fan?
Industrial fans are built for tougher conditions, higher pressure, temperature, or hazardous atmospheres, and require purpose-built motors, impellers and housings. Domestic and commercial fans on the other hand are used in residential properties such as kitchens, bathrooms, air comfort etc, or office buildings such as air conditioners or portable air movers. We specialise in industrial fans for industrial equipment, industrial processes and large scales projects.
What Are Industrial Fans Used For?
Industrial fans are used in a plethora of equipment and processes. This includes being the workhorse of most air movement systems. For example an air handlin unit cannot handle air without an industrial fan pushing or pulling air in a set direction through ductwork and filters, a cleanroom application cannot ensure air is removed without a fan sucking and replacing air adequately. A welding bench cannot ensure welding fumes are adequately exhausted away from the employees space, need to have a fan  sucking the fumes away.
As you can see industrial fans play an integral part of most industrial processes.

When Do Industrial fans Need to Be EC?
Not all industrial fans are, or need to be electronically commutated, making them more energy efficient. Some industrial applications require heavy power industrial fans to ensure they can meet the duty. We'll helpo you to decide which is the right type for your application.
Do I Need An ATEX Fan?
If your environment has potentially explosive gas or dust, yes, we can help you specify the correct ATEX-rated fan. Visit the ATEX fans page for more information.
