Industrial Fans for Pharmaceutical Isolators

In biological cabinets, the need to protect personnel and the environment from exposure to biohazards and cross contamination during routine procedures is of the utmost importance. Many isolators are used within pharmaceutical manufacturing processes including negative pressure and positive pressure units.

Types of Pharmaceutical Isolators

  • Negative pressure pharmaceutical isolators are separative devices used for the safe handling of toxic drugs and to retain other process generated particles, the isolator provides a full barrier protection between operator and product. The main work area maintains air quality levels in accordance with Grade ‘A’ EU GMP (Class 100) this is supplied via a HEPA filter providing unidirectional airflow. High air change rates are present within the units for total suppression of airborne contamination during material transfers in and out, and for rapid evaporation of disinfecting agents.
  • Positive pressure pharmaceutical isolators are separative devices used for the aseptic preparation and dispensing of IV additives and TPN’s, the isolator provides a full barrier protection between operator and product. The main work area maintains air quality levels in accordance with Grade ‘A’ EU GMP (Class 100) this is supplied via a HEPA filter providing unidirectional airflow. Again high air changes are again present in this type of isolator.

Industrial Fans For Pharmaceutical Isolators

GRE Pharmaceutical FansA wide range of industrial fans can be used to support the movement of air within pharmaceutical isolators, creating the negative or positive airflow barrier between the atmosphere or personnel from the toxic area. This ensures safety and efficiency when working with low to medium risk agents.
