The Axair Team Scale Scafell Pike

Scafell Pike is England’s highest mountain and stands at 978 metres above sea level. The Axair team took it upon themselves to scale its heights this summer and the task proved to be an excellent challenge. Taking the path from the starting point of Wasdale Head up the western side of the mountain, the team set off armed with sun cream and sandwiches. The footpath led through Lingmell Gill and Hollow Stones. Glances back down the path afforded impressive views of Wast Water. The path soon steepened and the ground became rockier underfoot a...

The team climbed aboard the footplate in pairs to blow the whistle, shovel coal into the firebox, open the regulator and experience the power of steam. The Churnet Valley Railway is a heritage line that takes visitors back to the classic d...

Understanding The Key Basic Fan Laws

Fan laws: The infinity laws for fans are used in HVAC to express the relationship between variables involved in fan performance and power. They are the basic proportional relationships between: Fan Speed (rpm), Air Flow Volume (m3/h), Pressure (Pa) and Power (W). They are frequently used to estimate air moving device requirements. Additionally the fan laws can be used to calculate the performance of air movers in different sizes and speeds. Three Basic Fan Laws: The three basic fan laws noted within this section are those that we will be co...
