The hospitality industry is booming, with research trends reporting that people are eating out more regularly and with more cost effective, health conscious options available there are restaurants opening each day with a hope of servicing a market with huge potential gains. But while everyone is thinking about the food that will be placed in front of them, many, unless working in the environment constantly, fail to recognise that the commercial kitchen is the epicentre of activity and in particular what a potentially dangerous place this can be for kitchen staff.
KB Series Commercial Extraction Fans
The KB series (KBAD – 3 phase, KBAE – single phase) is a range of high quality commercial extraction fans, manufactured by innovative manufacturing partner Rosenberg in Germany. the KB series of fans are driven by motors located out of the air-stream, allowing the impeller to operate at up to 100°, while the housing remains cool due to the manufactured thermally insulated skin. The motorised impeller is assembled to a hinged door, which provides rapid access to the fan for inspection and cleaning.
E-Series Revolution EC Plug Fans
Our high performance centrifugal impeller without spiral housing, the E-Series “REVOLUTION” is a range specifically designed for volume flow. Manufactured from aluminium, the E series range is designed and manufactured especially for the use of larger volume flow and lower pressure coupled with superior noise reduction and quiet operation. The impellers are manufactured using a black, UV-stabilised, long glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene.
The supply of fresh air can be achieved with a simple cased axial or plate axial. In some circumstances, a centrifugal fan in a box mounting can be used depending on the volume and pressure requirements of the application.
To move the contaminated air out of the extract canopy, there are two common methods. The first is to pull the air through ducting, often containing HEPA filters and carbon filters, horizontally using centrifugal extractor fans specifically designed for use in commercial kitchens. For example, the KB range from Rosenberg are driven by motors located out of the air-stream, allowing the impeller to operate at temperatures up to 100°, while the housing remains cool due to the manufactured thermally insulated skin. The motorised impeller is built on to a hinged door, which provides fast access to the fan for cleaning.
The second method is to extract the contaminated air vertically out through the roof of the building. In this case, we recommend the use of roof extraction units specifically designed to dissipate air into the outside environment with the use of centrifugal fans.
